Background - In the past, the
CICA technology conferences have been aimed at the technology people of small
and mid sized CA firms. There has been a diminished interest by these accountants
to attend this kind of conference over the past number of years.
- Accountants
in public practice and in industry use technology and are decision makers when
it comes to technology investments.
- The 2006 CICA National Conference
on Information Technology will be targeted to accountants in public practice and
industry. The conference will appeal to public accountants in mid sized and large
CA firms. The conference will also appeal to senior executives in mid sized and
large enterprises in various industries.
Reasons for accountants
to attend the technology conference - Accountants need to know more
about technology to do their jobs, and the conference will be an easy and enjoyable
way to learn about technology.
- Accountants in industry are interested
in business solutions to help them with technology investment decisions, and to
help their companies improve their business processes using technology.
- Accountants
in public practice are interested in business solutions to help them help their
clients with technology investment decisions.
- Accountants in public practice
are interested in business solutions to help them improve their own business processes.
- Today
there are many technical savvy accountants who will appreciate the technology
stream to learn about the hot technologies.
- There have been a lot of changes
in the marketplace because of consolidation and new technology. The conference
will be the ideal way to understand what's going on.

provide independent analysis of technology as well as case studies from peers
about their technology experiences.
