Project Management

Project management is a key factor in predicting success of an any project. We are seasoned veterans in project management with certification (Project Management Professional) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Implementation Projects

Our typical project management project is in the implementation of a new system for which we assisted in the selection process. Our role would typically be that of a high level project manager/facilitator. We would meet periodically with the implementation team to ensure that the project is on time and on budget to ensure satisfaction with the results, and to help resolve any conflicts. One of our key roles is to review all deliverables from the vendor/implementer for completeness, validity and reasonability.

Implementation Methodology

  1. Design - After familiarization of the project team with the package and its options, the technical environment, parameters, and necessary software modifications are incorporated in a design to meet your business needs. All required integration and conversion systems are designed and documented.
  2. Prototype - Users are first trained - but staff do not learn by training but by working with the product. It will take a number of iterations before they get it right. The prototype will include a small representative sample of all key transaction types. All key reports and all key controls will be included.
  3. Build - All software modifications, data conversion and interface programs and user procedures are completed to support the system design. The operational environment is set up and procedures documented. Unit and Integrated system tests are performed.
  4. Implement - The tested system is transferred to production, data is converted or created, and final acceptance testing is performed. Parallel testing is not usually required.
