Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 Differences

Targeted to small and medium-size companies with $5 - $50 Million in revenues.

Best. Best is owned by The Sage Group, which is, according to Best, the #1 vendor of PC-based accounting and business management solutions with over 4 million customers world-wide and revenues of C$1500M, and pre-tax profit of C$400M, for the current year ending September 30th.

Breadth. There are 26 comprehensive modules covering Financials, Distribution, EBusiness, light manufacturing, CRM, payroll and HR solutions.

Strong distribution. Distribution includes RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processing, warranty tracking, and lot/serial tracking.

Customization. You can change screens, add unlimited user defined fields and create unique menus in the modules.

eCommerce. There are hundreds of implementations in the US but only a handful in Canada.

ProvideX. MAS 90 and MAS 200 runs on the ProvideX file system. MAS 90 is not client/server technology and is limited to 15 concurrent users. MAS 200 is a client-server technology and supports a maximum of 400 concurrent users. The modules are the same regardless of whether the system is MAS 90 or MAS 200. Once you exceed 15 concurrent users you can upgrade the system manager to MAS 200 and add additional users. The upgrade takes under an hour and does not involve any employee re-training. MAS 200 is also available with Microsoft SQL Server. 

Third Party Products. With over 2,000 enhancements and add-on modules written in the MAS 90 and MAS 200 toolset by 130 third party developers, MAS 90 and MAS 200 offers solutions for many vertical market such as field service, job shops, and petroleum distributors.

SalesLogix and ACT. MAS 90 and MAS 200 provides good integration with SalesLogix (customer relationship management) and ACT! (contact management), both of which are also owned by Best.

Reporting. MAS 90 and MAS 200 includes FRx or F9 for financial reporting, and Crystal for generic reports

Digital dashboard. MAS 90 and MAS 200 uses a digital dashboard to show key performance indicators that allow management to monitor their business.

Warehouse management. MAS 90 and MAS 200 is integrated with Radio Beacon and other 3rd party warehouse management solutions utilizing RF technology. Radio Beacon has more clients with MAS 200 than any other accounting or ERP system.

Business Insights Reporter. Any user can create presentation quality reports and mine information resident in the database.
