This summer, the 180 Systems team got together for a ½ day away from our usual client work and virtual meetings at the home of Alex Miles in Hamilton. Our agenda included core values, which was updated and now consists of:
- Integrity – Never say anything that is not true.
- Postive Attitude – Always make the best of every situation.
- Resourcefulness – Find creative, practical ways to solve problems and improve business processes.
- Hard Work – Work hard, but not at the expense of family.
- Gratitude – We all have a lot to be thankful for.
- Commitment – Act with a high sense of urgency and always follow through.
- Enjoy life – Make time for what matters most.
We also talked about the future of 180 Systems including our founder, Michael Burns, who is going to retire in the next few years. He may not look or act like retirement is coming, but the clock is ticking. We are working on an exit strategy that will allow the company to prosper while Michael spends more time with his 11 grandchildren
As 180 Systems grows, we want to make sure we continue to maintain the collaborative culture that has always been an important part of the firm. Bringing together people with different backgrounds and experience is a big part of how we learn from each other and deliver better work for our clients. It was great to have the team together, and we will do it again but not sure where yet.
